America's Obituaries and Death Notices
A large and comprehensive collection of newspaper obituaries and death notices from around the United States. Each obituary or death notice is indexed by the name of the deceased person, to make searching easier and more precise. In addition, the text of each obituary or death notice is searchable, making it easy to find just what you're looking for using a place of residence, occupation, names of family members, or other personal information. Some notices go back to the early 1990s, most go back only 3 to 4 years.

Ancestry Library Edition (available in library only)
Search genealogical and historical documents in databases including Census, immigration, Social Security, and other records.

Biography Resource Center
This database combines biographies from several authoritative reference sources as well as full-text articles from hundreds of periodicals. Search for people based on one or more personal facts such as birth and death year, nationality, ethnicity, occupation or gender, or combine criteria to create a highly-targeted custom search.

Chilton Automotive Repair Manuals
Direct connection to the Chilton Automotive Repair Manuals is now restored.

CorpTech (This database is now available through Reference USA--see below) It is now available remotely.

CountryWatch
A current and comprehensive source of socio-demographic, cultural, historical, economic, political, environmental and corporate information, along with news, analysis, maps, data and statistics on all of the 192 countries of the world.

EBSCO
Periodical (magazines, journals and newspapers) databases, often with full-text. Includes specialized databases for children and students as well as topical databases on health and business.

FACTS.com
FACTS.com brings together complete content from the Facts On File World News Digest since 1940 and selected content from six other core reference databases to answer questions about events, issues, statistics and people of the last 60+ years. A great database for finding out what happened on a specific date in the past (such as your birthday!).

Greenwood Daily Life Online
A rich, authoritative database covering the history of daily life throughout history and across many cultures throughout the world. Organized by time period, region and topic, Daily Life Online combines information from numerous reference works, monographs, and primary documents and is a great resource for students from middle school all the way through college.

HeritageQuest Online (now available from home!)
Genealogy resource with census data, family records, local histories, and article index.

LearningExpressLibrary (formerly named Learn-A-Test)
Test preparation materials and interactive practice exams based on official tests. Subjects include GED, GMAT, SAT, ESL, Praxis, Real Estate, and more. Individual users create their own username and password, providing practice tests, immediate scoring, complete answer explanations, and an individualized analysis of your results.

Literature Resource Center
A comprehensive online literary site, Literature Resource Center addresses all
facets of literary study in one highly searchable interface. Its extensive
reference material includes: biographical, bibliographical, critical, and
contextual information on authors and their works.

We have replaced this service with access to the Chilton Automotive Repair Manuals (see above). This new service allows remote access.

Morningstar® Mutual Funds Online (available in library only; ask Reference staff for password assistance)

Ratings and analysis of mutual funds. Provides fast and easy access to Morningstar Mutual Funds in a PDF format. Download the latest issue under Most Recent Issue, select an entire group of funds to review under Download Reports by Category, or find a specific fund under Search.

Newsbank (available in library only, see below for remote access)
Full text articles from over 600 U.S. local, regional, national and international newspapers, newswires, and business journals, 1970-present. Includes full coverage of the Nashua Telegraph from 1998 to the present and the Union Leader from 1989 to the present. Due to contractual limitations, not all newspapers are accessible from home (see below).

Full text articles from over 400 U.S. local, regional, national and international newspapers, newswires, and business journals, 1970-present. Includes full coverage of the Nashua Telegraph from 1998 to the present and the Union Leader from 1989 to the present. Due to contractual limitations, many newspapers, such as the Concord Monitor, are only accessible from within the library (see above).

Newspaper Archive (available in library only)
Access.NewspaperArchive.com is a gateway to searching and reading historical newspapers online. Containing tens of millions of searchable newspaper pages, dating as far back as the 1700s, the archive is an excellent source of primary source documents. Use the archive to view, save and print full-page newspapers from around the world.

Novelist
A wonderful reader's advisory service, Novelist provides a database of fiction titles in which readers can find read-alikes, authors, titles, and booklists. If you enjoy a particular author, what other authors might you like? A great resource for book discussion groups, as well. For younger readers, try Novelist K-8.

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center
Full text articles and statistics from respected reference publishers like Gale and MacMillan, as well from nearly 50 major newspapers and magazines.  This database gives researchers current information on the topics of today, presented in a very well organized and easy to use interface.

Reference USA
Directory of U.S. business information (including contact names and estimated sales), residential telephone numbers and addresses, and U.S and Canadian high-tech companies (CorpTech).

Student Resource Center (EBSCO)
Resources selected with the needs of students in mind. Uses an intuitive interface that allows students to easily identify the types of resources provided (secondary, primary, newspaper, etc.).

Valueline Online Updates (available in library only; ask Reference staff for assistance with password)

Online version of the print publication, updated in advance online. Advice and information source on 1,700 stocks and 90 industries, and the economy. Includes stock price forecasts in Ratings & Reports , stock "screens" and statistics in the Summary & Index , and the latest forecasts, model portfolios, and write-ups of attractive stocks in Selection & Opinion

World Book Online
A searchable online version of the World Book Encyclopedia, including articles, pictures, video, audio, an atlas, a dictionary, and daily and monthly special features. Also includes parent, teacher, and student resources, and articles focusing on headline news.

WorldCat (available in library only)
OCLC catalog of books, web resources, and other material worldwide. Most are not held by Nashua Public Library, but many can be obtained through Inter-library loan. * *
